I'm not ignoring you, just give me a while to make all the reasons I hate that movie coherent, and put it on the site. _________________ "...This moment, this night! This is what you will be remembered for..." |

I enjoyed it.
Three words! I know... Evil. I like the effects, story, and freaky alien romance thing. It's not exactly epic, but I like it for that reason. It's vintage romance, action, and all around classic tale in one package with sweet 3d filming. |

I guess the main reason I hated it was because I'm not particularly into the mainstream uber-enviromentalist thing, i.e. Global Warming is not dangerous. Additionally, it could be called (and a colleauge of mine did) call it a rip-off of Pocohontas. It also looks like Cameron took all the really popular stuff and put in one movie (Aliens, Werewolves, Dragons, Dinosaurs), the only things missing being vampires, which are a recent fad. Even then, the natives have pointed teeth. The gunships were also a rip-off of the LAAT/i seen in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The best thing to come out of that movie was: "...As head of security, it is my job to keep you alive. I will not suceed." Speaking of that guy, why'd he have to get shot twice? Those arrows were bigger than him! Not that I particularly hated this, but it's also the first time I've seen three people with names die like BOOM, RATATATAT, SNIPE without the Omega 13 nearby. On that note, the colonel said the natives were hard to kill, but the war party leader was killed by one thug with an assault rifle! I'm going to pause now, and resume my rant when I gather my thoughts again. _________________ "...This moment, this night! This is what you will be remembered for..." |

Global Warming is a fraud, I agree. I hear that claim a lot...the whole Avatar = eco nut thing. I disagree with that point, though. Humans are guilty of over using our resources. It's the point the movie makes. I'm not sure where Global Warming even comes up outside of the blogs.
The other stuff could be true, but... I'm not angry. I like dinosaurs and Aliens. |

Resuming the rant, did you notice how cliche the movie was? Not in word, but action, the three I noticed were: "Greedy Capitalist Americans Know Best, Send in the Marines!", "Greedy Capitalist Americans Kill the Indians!", and "Greedy Capitalist Americans Kill the Enviroment!". You have to be pretty messed up to make a movie where your own country is the bad guys. _________________ "...This moment, this night! This is what you will be remembered for..." |

Oh... Well, there was still the line about "There's no green there, we killed our mother..." _________________ "...This moment, this night! This is what you will be remembered for..." |

Yeah... I didn't like it either. I go to movies for the story, not the special effects. And the story was just... really basic, not exciting, and not my kind of movie.
Not to mention the fact that I just couldn't shrug the political undertones. :/ _________________ I reject your reality and substitute my own. |
